So are you a filmmaker or a photographer?
Short answer: Filmmaker. But sometimes I do photography.
I studied filmmaking at the University of Texas, and that's truly where my passion lies. However, photography is a huge creative outlet for me and if you're interested in working together I'm always up for a photo shoot. Newborn sessions and family portraits are some of my favorites.
What equipment do you shoot with?
I film on Canon DSLR's (currently a Canon 5D Mark III), with top of the line lenses. My favorite lenses for video are the Canon 70-200mm f/2.8L lens, and the Sigma Art lenses for Canon. I also like to use the Canon 50mm f/1.8 STM or Canon 24-105mm f/4L IS USM lenses for photography. For audio recording, I use the Zoom H4n audio recorder with Sennheiser ew 100 ENG G3 wireless lavalier microphones.
I use Adobe Creative Suite for editing photo and video, and have knowledge/expertise in Premiere Pro, After Effects, Audition, and Photoshop.
do you have a second shooter?
Behind every strong woman is a very patient man. My husband is my go to second shooter for all of my wedding shoots. His engineering mind makes him my perfect partner in crime for filming these sort of events. He knows my gear almost as well as I do and he knows my processes enough that I don't even have to tell him what to shoot anymore. We basically finish each other's sandwiches.
How much do you charge for wedding videography?
How do I book my wedding date?
To book your wedding date, I require a signed contract as well as a 50% deposit. The other 50% is due by/on your wedding date.
do you travel for weddings? Are there travel fees?
Absolutely! For in-state travel, I charge a $50 flat rate for weddings greater than 30 miles outside of Austin. I charge an additional $150 hotel fee for weddings greater than 60 miles outside of Austin.
I am a big fan of traveling, and I can offer discounts for out of state/out of country weddings. Some dream locations of mine are Napa, New Orleans, Seattle/Portland, Rocky Mountain National Park, the Grand Canyon, White Sands National Monument, Italy, Greece, and Ireland.
How long does it take to get my wedding video?
I know as soon as the honeymoon is over you're ready to relive every second of your wedding day - believe me, I want that for you too! My typical turnaround time for a wedding highlights video is around 3 months, with wedding DVD's turned around in about 6 months. So you'll have your highlights video (the one you're going to want to share all over your social media and send to everyone you've ever met) to hold you over until you receive your DVD's which include any other video material included in your package.
I have strong opinions about music. Can i choose the music for my wedding video?
I totally get it, I have strong opinions about music too! Unfortunately due to copyright laws, I can't use the newest Justin Timberlake or Ed Sheeran song for your highlights video. Every song I use requires me to purchase a license for legal online streaming. You're also (hopefully) choosing me as your videographer because you like my style and trust my editing expertise. I take the song selection process very seriously, and I strive to find a song that feels like you and your spouse while also capturing the spirit of the day. If you like the music in my other highlights videos, I promise you can trust me to find the perfect song for you.
