Rose Wedding Highlights - San Antonio, TX
It’s been a hot minute over here since I’ve shared any new work! June is wedding season and it’s definitely been keeping me busy this time around. And while I’m so excited to share some wedding previews with you all in the coming weeks, I’m even more excited to share Kelly and Daniel’s wedding highlights with you!
We had so much fun filming this sweet couple on their wedding day, and as soon as Kelly’s dad gave his toast I knew the story I wanted to tell through their video. Just watch and you’ll see exactly what I’m talking about. ;) Congrats to the newly Roses!
Wimberly Super 8 Wedding Highlights - Austin, TX
Our Super 8 wedding highlights are finally here!! **does happy dance** When Cassie approached me over a year ago, she had a special vision in mind for her wedding film. She remembered an old Super 8 wedding video that she’d seen years before, and the feelings that it evoked when she watched it. She fell completely in love with the nostalgia and timelessness of the film look, and for years it had been her dream to have her wedding captured in that same vintage style.
I had never shot Super 8 before, but after talking through Cassie’s vision, I was completely bought in on the idea. I researched cameras and film stock for months in preparation, and we did a test shoot just weeks before the wedding to make sure we would be able to capture all of the reception footage in the dark. I ended up purchasing an old Canon 310 XL Super 8 camera for shooting, and for film stock I went with Vision3 200T color negative film for the daylight portions of the day, and Vision3 500T color negative film for the nighttime portions. On the wedding day we only shot five rolls of film, about 15 minutes total. A single roll is only 3 minutes long, and the cost of the film plus processing comes out to about $100 a roll, so we carefully executed a shot list throughout the day to capture everything we wanted on Super 8, saving it for only the most important moments. David and I captured digital footage of everything in between, and so we would have a backup in case the film failed for any reason.
I had an extremely difficult time choosing what type of music to use for this (something slow and emotional was my other choice), but ultimately I was inspired by the juxtaposition of the vintage footage with the hip hop style music. Although the music was technically hip hop, the synthesizer evoked a bit of an 80’s vibe that worked so well with the Super 8 footage. I also loved that by mixing the digital and film footage, I was forced to get creative with some of my transitions and editing choices. I wanted the video to feel as though we were reminiscing back on old memories, and the switch from digital to Super 8 feels almost like flashback scenes. I’m so thrilled with how this creative endeavor came out, and I’m so grateful for Cassie’s strong vision and eagerness to trust me with trying something new. Cheers to the happy couple!
Wright Wedding Highlights - Dallas, TX
Last week I was so excited to get to deliver this wedding video on none other than Valentine’s Day! Jeff and Madison are high school sweethearts and the real deal - their love for Jesus, their friends, family, and each other made this video such a joy to work on. Their friend group reminds me so much of my college friend group, and seeing how much love and support they have from them was so encouraging. Also Madison and Jeff picked this song which I LOVE, and feels like it fits them so well. Congrats to the Wrights!

Bass Wedding Highlights - Horseshoe Bay, TX
Everything about Megan and Andrew’s day was stunning from beginning to end! The venue itself, Escondido Golf & Lake Club, was like a little slice of Tuscany in the Texas hill country. The florals, the dessert table, the ceremony site, everything was beautiful and I’m pretty sure I could have died from gorgeousness!
Megan and Andrew were extremely laid back on the big day, and having fun with their friends and family was definitely the biggest priority. I love working with couples to collaborate on what is most important to them in their wedding video, and they emphasized that they wanted their video to be uplifting and joyful. When letting them narrow down what song they wanted for their video they chose this one, which I think fits them so perfectly! More than having my own creative autonomy, I want my videos to reflect the couple and their story, and I think this video captures Megan and Andrew so well.
Cheers to the Basses!
